Chief Software Architect

We provide pioneering SaaS analytics solutions to utilities and independent system operators for use by their engineers and renewable energy developers.

Our advanced platform combines predictive analytics, machine learning, configurable business processes, and cloud computing to deliver a suite of SaaS-based products and services with the flexibility to evolve with the world’s changing energy model. The GridUnity platform has been rolled out across 16 U.S. states by entities providing energy to about 20% of Americans, and we’re growing fast.

We are seeking a Chief Architect who has the passion, experience, and vision to lead us in our next phase of innovation as our business scales. The Chief Architect will report to the CTO.

The GridUnity Chief Architect is a senior role whose primary goal is to guide our product engineering teams through transformation and technology scalability. The applicant must be a leader and passionate about advancing the mission of GridUnity on how its product (technology), people, and the process is enabling and speeding up the adoption of renewable energy and reducing carbon footprint in the US and globally.

You will be responsible for planning the technical architect development, strategy, and process to support the business vision, mission, and product roadmap. You are also responsible for aligning the architecture and solutions with GridUnity’s business objectives. Ideally, you have a background in energy analytics and Big Data. It’s a plus if you have experience in Power Grid Interconnection, AI-based Energy System Modeling, and 3rd Party Integrations. You are comfortable with and understand how to succeed working in a small and nimble company serving the world’s largest utility companies. You are also a doer and will be excited to accelerate our software architecture to enable rapid growth through an architecture that enables parallel product and feature development and is optimized for rapid deployment with little to no coding.

The Chief Architect will strive to become a trusted advisor to GridUnity’s executives, key customers, and industry thought leaders, building partnerships and solutions to meet the challenges of a more demanding, digitally connected environment and consumer-oriented energy in a rapidly changing economic and legislative, policy-driven environment, and highly regulated industry. The role will also drive the creation of vertical-specific solution offerings in collaboration with the broader energy ecosystem, including working with data providers, IoT, connected things, and cybersecurity & compliance aspects of the portfolio readiness in partnership with product development teams.

We are looking for a strong leader who’s highly adaptable, open to providing and receiving feedback, and excited by the opportunity to build out our industry-leading energy analytics platform to be the de-facto standard.
